Kundli vs horoscope vs Panchang: three different jobs

Kundli is a natal snapshot, horoscope is a period reading from natal Sun, and Panchang is the five-limb calendar. Three jobs, three screens, no mix-up.

A natal chart stacks signs, houses, and planets. Houses and Lagna need a recorded birth time.

The short answer

A kundli is a natal snapshot from your birth details. A horoscope page on this site is a period reading from natal Sun plus the current sky. Panchang is the five-limb calendar for a place: tithi, vara, nakshatra, yoga, karana. Today’s sky is a transit snapshot. They are different screens on purpose. Mixing them — “today’s tithi proves my 7th house” — is a category error.

Kundli (janam kundli)

Kundli means a calculated chart for one birth. In Jyotish-style practice here it uses a sidereal overlay, grahas, and — when time exists — Lagna and houses. It is not a magazine Sun-sign paragraph. It is also not today’s almanac. Completeness depends on inputs. A pretty diamond with a fake clock is not more Vedic; it is more wrong. Read what a Vedic kundli is and how to make a free kundli if you want the tool path.

The Chart page is private and noindex. This public article exists so search can see the distinction without opening anyone’s birth file.

Horoscope (daily to yearly)

On this website, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly horoscope pages start from your natal Sun and then describe how the current sky meets that placement. Daily language stays on today. Yearly language stays on the year. They are not a second kundli. They are not twelve spun “Aries 2026” doorway pages. If you do not have a birth time, these period readings can still run because they do not secretly invent a Lagna to pad length.

Newspaper “Scorpio tomorrow” columns are a different product: Sun-sign entertainment with no natal file. If that is the query you wanted, this site will disappoint you on purpose. We will not generate 365 rashi posts to chase that traffic.

Panchang

Panchang means five limbs of a traditional day. Vara is weekday. Tithi is a lunar day from the Sun–Moon angle; it can change at an odd civil hour. Nakshatra here is the Moon’s mansion today, not your natal Nakshatra unless they happen to match. Yoga and karana complete the usual set. Location and timezone matter for the exact changeover. Two family calendars can disagree by a day without anyone being cursed.

Panchang is for festivals, fasting, and optional muhurta in communities that want that ritual. It is not your 7th house. It is not a medical appointment. Read what Panchang is for the limbs in more detail.

Today’s sky

Today’s sky is a transit snapshot: natal-meets-sky notes when a profile exists, the Moon’s current mansion, and planet cards for the day. It sits beside Panchang, not inside it. Use it as weather language, not as a command.

What this site will not do

Why search mixes these words

In everyday Indian English, people say “kundli,” “horoscope,” and “panchang” as if they were synonyms. Google then shows mixed results. Large directories can occupy all three because they have thousands of URLs. A smaller publisher wins by keeping one job per URL and saying so in the first paragraph. That is this page’s job.

If you arrived from “kundli vs horoscope vs panchang,” you now have the map. Open Chart only if you want the natal file. Open Daily only if you want a period reading. Open Panchang only if you want the almanac. Do not paste all three into a family group as one screenshot with a red arrow.

Ads and tools

Public explainers and some free reading screens may show ads. Chat does not. Premium is ads-free on reading screens. A tithi does not care whether you are Premium. Do not treat an ad as a muhurta instruction.

Place-aware calendar, not a Maps listing

Panchang and today’s sky use a saved place because limbs change with longitude and timezone. That is place-aware calculation, not a Google Business Profile. This website is not a shop in a colony. We will not publish “best astrologer in Jaipur” pages. If you need a festival ruling for a sampradaya, ask your community almanac. If you need a natal chart, that is Chart after you save a profile.

Reading order

  1. Learn the three jobs on this page.
  2. If the clock is missing, read unknown birth time before Chart.
  3. If you want vocabulary, read the Vedic kundli and Panchang explainers.
  4. Create a profile only if you want a private calculation.

A worked example without inventing a person

Suppose someone born in Pune does not know the clock. Their kundli can still discuss the Sun and, often, the Moon. Their daily horoscope can still speak from natal Sun plus today’s sky. Their Panchang can still list tithi for Pune. None of those facts unlock the 7th house. A site that prints the 7th house anyway has switched jobs in the middle of the sentence. This site will not.

Suppose someone has an exact time. Chart may show Lagna. Daily horoscope still does not become a second Lagna story. Panchang still does not become a house table. Keeping the labels separate is how families avoid a WhatsApp rumour that “today’s nakshatra cancelled Manglik.”

After this page

Open how to read a birth chart for natal reading order. Open Panchang explained for the five limbs. Open reflection rules if a relative wants a calendar limb to decide medicine. Then, only if you want a private file, use the free kundli landing and the start form.

Why one URL cannot be all three jobs

Thin astrology sites often stack a wheel, a tithi, and a “today for Leo” paragraph on one URL so ads have somewhere to sit. That pattern is why ad networks and search quality rater docs talk about low-value content. This publisher splits the jobs: public explainers teach the difference; private tools do the calculation; chat stays ads-free. If you only needed the vocabulary, you can leave without creating a profile. That is a successful visit.
