Kundali matching: a thoughtful starting point, not a verdict
Kundali matching is a traditional practice that compares two birth charts. It can offer a structured language for reflection, but it cannot prove whether a relationship will succeed.
What is being compared?
In many Indian astrology traditions, a compatibility comparison begins with both people’s birth date, place, and, where known, birth time. A chart calculation uses these details to estimate placements such as the Moon sign and Nakshatra. Traditional methods then compare selected factors between the two charts.
The common shorthand is “Kundali matching,” although methods vary by region, family tradition, and astrologer. A useful report should state which method it uses instead of presenting one number as universal truth.
Why consent comes first
Birth details are personal information. Do not enter another person’s details without their permission. A responsible comparison should stay private, avoid public profile discovery, and let the person who stored a profile delete it at any time.
A compatibility report is not permission to pressure someone, override their choices, or judge their character. Mutual consent, safety, communication, and shared goals are the foundation of a healthy relationship.
What a score can be useful for
A traditional score can prompt conversations. For example, two people might discuss expectations about family, finances, faith, work, or where they want to live. It can be a cultural ritual or a shared reflection tool when both people value it.
A score cannot measure respect, emotional maturity, reliability, compatibility in day-to-day decisions, or willingness to resolve conflict. Those qualities need direct conversation and time.
Why accurate birth time matters
Some compatibility approaches use the Ascendant, houses, Mars placement, or other time-sensitive factors. If birth time is unknown, a careful tool should not guess. It should either limit the report to supported Moon-based factors or explain that a full comparison is unavailable.
